Sakura Hobby Crafts DT CALL
Todays post is my DT submission to become a member of the Sakura Hobby Crafts Design Team.
In order to be considered for this position, I need to show you what I can do with some of the products from http://www.sakuracraft.com/
Many of you know that I have a strong passion for making cards and scrapbook pages. And so I decided I would share a quirky card I made using the following products.
I`m showing you a card, not for the card itself as much as for the products I`m using and the techniques I`d like to share with you. Lets get started.
I wanted the bird to see his reflection in the mirror. I like how it turned out, but I LOVE the technique more than anything. Heres how I made this card.
I stamped a oval frame onto a sheet of plastic using Stazon Ink.
Next I colored in the frame by using the metallic color pens.
When the lacquer was completely dry (I left it overnight) I was able to peel the lacquer off in one piece to make a frame embellisment.
Next I stamped a bird image onto the mirror using Stazon ink in blue and dotted the bird on the mirror with more metallic pens.
I then colored a chipboard bird with the blue metallic pen, this turned out so pretty and has a lovely sheen on the chipboard that you will love. Again, I made a free handed flower design on the chipboard using the metallic pens.
I assembled the rest of the card. To adhere many of my pieces to the card I used the 3D Crystal lacquer - MY GO TO ADHESIVE!!
Now I have a lovely piece of inspiration to share with one of my friends.
I hope you will give this stamping - lacquer trick a try, honestly, now I can`t wait to see what stamp I can use with this techneque next.
