I WON THE CAR!

I'm still shaking, there were alot of people in that showroom waiting for their name to be picked. They drew 4 names, then just like deal or no deal, they offered us cash. The other three contestants names were drawn and I was the last one. I'm now the proud owner of a Ford Taurus (1996). Its awesome! I will post photos tomorrow. We couldnt get plates on it today. I just want to say thankyou for all your positive vibes. Your efforts helped me win this.

LSS CROP REGISTRATION

Well, I'm signed up and I'm so excited to have my spot secured for a couple of days of SB with the local SBer's. It takes place in April, so I have a little wait. But one of the big name SBer's that hangs with us is "Wilna Furstenburg" she's so talented.

I"ve been fortunate to have been taught a class by Wilna and last fall she was able to look over my work. She is as every bit humble as she is talented! So I hope she will be in the house! Our LSS is full of some really talented artists. So its always very inspiring to work along side of anyone of them. I look forward to seeing you all again, do you have an outfit picked out yet?

The Kindness of Others!

What I have learned today is this. Kindness just happens! Unexpectedly and out of the blue!

I am so grateful to MYLA today (a complete stranger). She made my day so much easier. She did something very simple, but the outcome of her actions meant that my whole day of running errands has been completed by noon. I will be paying this forward. I will remember that you gave me an afternoon to relax with my family. Thats a big deal!

You are my hero today!

I'm in the process of organizing and decluttering my LIFE! Just too much stuff around me, which I'm now finding very distracting. I seem to be really good at cleaning it up and putting it back, but I just can't seem to find the hands that toss things out!!!! When did this hoarding habit start?
I'm sure I don't have a real issue here, but I know this time around I will be totally ruthless in my quest for space. But everytime I pick something up, I say OH, I will use that one day! Ya right. One day is never gonna come. So I've gotten some boxes, let the packing begin.

My Painful Journey.
Hair, I’ve always had tons of it. I was born with pitch black hair. By the age of three (1968) I’m sure my mother must have figured out that my hair was going to give her a lot of grief. But only a couple of years later, I had long hair. One of my mom’s favorite stories is about the time my grandma (Elsie) did my hair in curls. She used cloth to do this. I remember the day. I thought it was great. Grandma and me hanging out doing girly things. WOW, what a day. Until I got home. My curls were so tight. I looked like Orphan Annie and mom hated it. So I never did that again. It was a love hate relationship for my mother when I was young. I didn’t care which way the wind blew my hair. I always did it up. Ribbons, barrettes, I remember how much I loved those ties that were so soft and fuzzy. Those were the days! Then the 1970’s hit with a wave of FARRAH hair. What were we thinking? This just was the worst hair period of my life. I was already struggling with my self image, bushy eyebrows and zits. But to frame my face and accent all of those weak spots. WOW! I could still crawl into a hole everytime I look at that picture (1980) Thanks a lot Farrah! Ok so that passes and we move on to a time when I got the hair working for me, somewhat, but those eyebrows. OOP’s! I didn’t miss the bushy hair on top of my head era, but there aren’t many pictures of that. One small blessing.
I’m back to long hair again in the early 80’s. Which I think was Ok, it was easy. I was 25 and free as a bird. I didn’t need a fussy hair style weighing me down. But, come the 1990’s and I had to go and experiment again. SHORT PERMED HAIR, REALLY? (1991) I had a smirk on my face in this photo, I’m not surprised at all, given the fact that I look like, well I just don’t know how to describe this one. Moving on, I didn’t mind my shorter hair in 1992, I thought I was just so stylin’. So much so I had a passport picture taken. DUH! Ya remember these moments with a photo for all the world to see for all eternity!
So I finally woke up to the whole hair thing twenty eight years after I started my journey. Since attending post secondary education, I learned pretty quickly that fashion doesn’t always mean common sense. Most of the gals I went to school with were pretty cool and in order to be apart of that, one had to rise to the occasion. I grew my hair long again. This stayed with me in varying lengths and degrees for along time. However, I still hadn’t learned my lesson at this point. Now when I married my husband I had the thickest, healthiest, most beautiful hair. But only a few years later, it was as short as it’s ever been. I’ve colored my hair, permed my hair and done just about everything a girl could do to their hair. But I’m past the short hair stage…..for now. I love long hair, I always have and I always will. The only other great thing about my hair at my age right now, is the fact that Mr. Gray hasn’t hit me too hard…..YET!
I don’t think I will ever be bald, but if my HAIR history has anything to do with it, I’ll probably be that one day as well. And I will embrace it like I’ve embraced every other hair moment I’ve had, with pride, tons of product and a sense of humor. After all it is just hair. It will return. And if it doesn’t I can always start experimenting with wigs!

Well, I'm not sure how deserving I am of this. There's a ton of talent over at 4 Scrappy Sisters, but they picked this one as LOTD. March 26th. Thanks for making my day!

Hey there visitors. To all of my blog followers I'd like to say THANK YOU! I see many of you live many miles and oceans away from me. I am always amazed that there are so many Scrapbookers all over the world. One of these days I'm gonna create a WORLD Scrapbooking Crop. We'll all meet up in a different host country each year. Exchange a keepsake, call in some of the "hottest" SB'ers and crop until we drop. Who's in for this challenge????? Could you imagine the sponsors that would be needed for this event. Wow! You'd have to hold it every two or three years just for planning such a huge event. And then where would you house and crop 3000 SB'ers hehe. I have yet to get any SB'ers from Africa, yet I know South Africa has a large number of SB'ers. Hello, South Africa! Well back to creating.

A friendly hello card. I mailed out tons of stuff today for many people, mostly easter or spring greetings. What fun to spread a little cheer. Love this bird stamp from Stampin Up'.

Card Challenge

A spring card for my mommy! She loves to garden and she's desperate to get at it, so maybe this will cheer her up.

Another challenge from a sketch we had to follow. My son will love this, there's a new kids movie coming out in July about a robot. I can't wait to go see that one.

I made these to help my son along with his learning disability. I sure hope it helps, he loves them. These are his vehicles, so he can associate the names to the letters.
